Benefits of a Nanny Cam

Nanny cam became very popular nowadays. Thanks to cameras – nanny surveillance now is much easier that several years ago. When parents decided to hire a nanny the next important questions they ask is how to make sure that nanny does fulfill her duties well while staying with children alone. The invisible Nanny Camera might just provide a solution. With a hidden camera you can monitor many things, like certain areas of your office or for keeping watch on the nanny or babysitter. Wireless nanny camera is built into everyday things so there are hidden. Examples include smoke detectors, lamps, air fresheners, clocks and other devices.

For hidden nanny camera there are many different styles. There are three types of nanny cam.

With wired camera systems should consist of the hidden camera, cable, and the DVR or the VCR. Cables and recording medium are not normally included as part of the purchase of cameras that are intended for wired connection. When it comes to your existing DVR or VCR you should normally have the extra expenses. Make sure that the cable will create opportunity is not expense. Such cameras generally aren’t triggered by movement and therefore always need to be kept on. Some tapes have almost 8 hours or more playback time.

Body worn applications are another use for wired systems. Nanny cameras can be hidden in items like child’s teddy nanny camera, wireless nanny camera, nanny cambears, toys, or everywhere in your house. In a fanny pouch or knapsack you could keep a mini DVR which these could record to.

Hidden nanny camera with a transmitter and a receiver would make up this system which would then connect to the back of your VCR or DVR.  Typically the transmitter and receiver are included when you purchase the camera. Based on the chosen tier of transmitters, images can be captured from as far almost half a mile. Once more, your recording medium will record constantly because these usually do not have motion sensors.

Interference is a problem you may encounter with these cameras. WiFi, wireless internet, and cordless phones can all be causes of this problem. Most of the time the problem can be figured out by simply moving the item which is causing offense, whether this be the transmitter or the receiver.

Nanny cameras of this caliber are by far the most adaptable. Cables, transmitters and receivers are not required. Everything in the camera and DVR is built in these usually only records when they detect movement because they have motion sensors. There is also the ability to use masking. Without recording the movement you can mask an acarerea.

This type of cameras stores the video on a SD card. All you need to do to view the video is plug it into your computer. An SD card is pretty inexpensive if you don’t get one with your cam. Time and date stamp as well as scheduled recording are amongst other included features.  On the whole, this piece of equipment is quite versatile!

More Alternatives and Warnings

I’ll also discuss various possible alternatives. You will usually be able to decide between a black or white camera. About all of the black and white will record in conditions with very low light. (It is dim lighting as opposed to complete black!) If the cost is a concern for you, go for a white wired camera. But we do recommend you to purchase a wireless nanny camera as it worth the money. Take this caution with you. It is recommended that you become knowledgeable with the legal restrictions in your area regarding exactly where and what can be recorded, especially if you have the capability of capturing audio.

  • Great article you have here, it is always very daunting finding the right nanny. I am lucky as a family member babysits my youngest child but for any new mums out there needing a nanny this is definately a good way of keeping an eye on them.

  • Well there are two benefits of these cameras, the first one is that you can give it to your child to play so it can be a toy and the second thing is that it will work as a monitoring device for your children. That’s why i like it very much, this really very beneficial. Anyways keep it up and keep continue.

  • I would feel so worried getting my child a personal nanny. I can’t even find a good babysitter.

  • Would you let the nanny know you had this? I think it would be a problem with some people if they felt their privacy was being invaded.

  • Interesting post! For Jim: Well, I think by telling her you’d spoil the idea. I wouldn’t tell. And I mean I wouldn’t tell anybody. I would use it from time to time at the beginning just to make sure everything is ok. But I would watch it immediately and then delete. I know it’s not that ethical but if there’s someone I trust not to abuse records, it’s me. But in general, I’d rather not hire any nanny- as someone above mentioned – family members are the best solution.

  • I think that hiding the nanny cam from the sitter is the only way to go. What’s the point? I don’t know the laws in every state, but I would imagine that a person can do what she wants in her own home. If not, don’t ask don’t tell…like in the military!

  • I think if you told the nanny that you have cameras throughout the house that that would certainly deter her from doing anything harmful. If she insists on knowing where they are…consider getting another nanny!
